From the Pastor’s Desk
March 26, 2017
From the bottom of our hearts, Sister Judy and I would like to express our most sincere joy and appreciation to the members of this wonderful church for allowing us to be a part of your lives for the past 14 years, serving as your pastor. Today will be my last submission to the weekly bulletin, and I wish to assure each of you that you all remain in our hearts and prayers.
We have seen many wonderful things come to pass over these years, and must conclude that surely God has been good to all! WE thank God for the miracle of this beautiful church building and the many resources it allows for the great work of God. Most of all, we are thankful for the true church, which as the Word of God tells us, is YOU – the Body of Christ! Thank you for your kind words and support, and know that they remain in our memories and thoughts, which will always remind us of family and friends.
I want to say with full assurance that God has a great future of this church in the continual advancement of His Kingdom, and reaching our communities. I feel with full confidence that God’s will and purpose has been accomplished with the installation of Pastor Mark Morehouse and his wife, Avis. I want to encourage each of you to support their efforts and ministry in the years to come. The Morehouses are deserving of our very best, and I know them to be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Take care of them and submit yourselves to their leading. Always remember to uphold their family in prayer. Never be hesitant to ask, “Pastor, what do you need done today, or how may I assist your work?”
I am reminded of John’s last letter to Gaius in 3John verse 4: “I have no greater joythan to hear that my children walk in truth.” John was underscoring the importance of walking in truth, demonstrating all the principles of Christian love. I am believing God for greater revival in the Dartmouth United Pentecostal Church, with continual growth and reports of many being born into the Kingdom of God. This best expresses Sister Judy’s and my wishes for each of you and Pastor Morehouse.
This Gospel message is awesome and it will change your life!
I cannot close without honoring Pastor Warren and Sister Danita Lange. I know of no greater example of loyalty and dedication to both the work of God or to a pastor. The Langes are an amazing family. They love God and His people, and should always remain recognized and honored. God has seen their hearts and their examples are those you may trust. His Hand is on their lives!
Finally, thank you to the man who has taught me so much, and continues to inspire me every day by his life and example – Bishop John D. Mean. Brother Mean has been patient with me. I recall many years ago when I was a teenager trying to find my way when Brother and Sister Mean spoke of adopting me. Perhaps no legal papers to claim the name, but in my hearts, Brother Mean has always been my “Dad,” and I love him dearly! Church: always look after this champion and wonderful saint of God! Drop by for a coffee and chat, or invite him over for dinner. Your family will be rewarded by the experience as he shares the goodness of God!
We love each of you with all our hearts!
